Minerva Jean Falcon

Minerva Jean A. Falcon is a retired Filipino diplomat .

Life

She studied at the University of the Philippines , where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts . She later received her Bachelor of Law and Master of Arts in International Relations from Boston University .

In 1972 she entered the diplomatic service of her country. She was active in Spain , serving as ambassador to Turkey from 1994 to 1996 and as consul general in Hawaii from December 1996 to November 2000 .

She worked as Consul General of the Philippines in Hamburg for six months before becoming Ambassador to Germany in 2002 . In July 2005 she was named Ambassador of the Month by the magazine Diplomatische Depesche in Magdeburg's Herrenkrughotel . Between October 15, 2005 and March 10, 2007, she was Consul General in Vancouver, Canada . Falcon was then the Philippine ambassador to Switzerland from 2007 to 2008 . In this role she supported the Filipino efforts of former President Ferdinand Marcos to regain misappropriated funds that were in Swiss trust accounts .

After serving as Consul General in Toronto , she retired.
