Minerva Movietone

Minerva Movietone was an Indian film company . It was founded in 1936 by Sohrab Modi and his brother Rustom.

Minerva Movietone was the further development of the 1935 Stage Film, with which the stage repertoire of Rustom Modi's theater group Arya Subodh Natak Mandali was filmed. Known Indian for their large-scale productions historical films like Pukar (1939), Sikandar (1941) and Prithvi Vallabh (1943), the production company also benefited from the existing film distribution of modes in Gwalior , the third brother Keki modes Western India Theaters still a chain from 27 movie theaters in 10 cities.

In 1952, Minerva Movietone, in cooperation with Film Group, created the first Technicolor color film studio in India and released the first Indian color film Jhansi Ki Rani the following year . The film company existed until around 1960.
