Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum
The Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum (Míng Xiàolíng 明孝陵) is the tomb of Emperor Hongwu (Zhu Yuanzhang 朱元璋), the founder of the Ming Dynasty , and his wife Ma. It is located in Zhongshan Mountain (Zhong Shan) in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China.
A " path of the soul " ( shendao ), famous for its stone sculptures, leads to the grave .
Additional graves are graves of the deserving officials Chang Yuchun (常 遇春), Qiu Cheng (仇 成), Wu Liang (吴良), Wu Zhen (吴 桢), Xu Da (徐达) and Li Wenzhong (李文忠).
The Xiaoling Mausoleum ( Ming Xiaoling ) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (1-177) since 1961 .
