Minhaj ul-Quran (lit. the Koranic method ) is an Islamic organization of the Sunnis . The headquarters of the communities belonging to this organization in Germany is Frankfurt am Main , the world headquarters are in Lahore, Pakistan . The organization, which now represents more than 80 countries, was founded there in 1981 by the lawyer Mohammad Tahir-ul-Qadri , who still heads the organization today. In 1989, al-Qadri founded the People's Movement of Pakistan (PAT) political party in Pakistan , of which he is chairman.

Minhaj ul-Quran maintains numerous religious, social and cultural institutions as well as various educational institutions worldwide. The aim of the Minhaj ul-Quran network is to unite the Umma and to proclaim and strengthen true Islam .

Its founder has published a fatwa that uses theological arguments from the Koran to condemn suicide bombers and the killing of innocent civilians.
