The Minhas Brewery is the oldest brewery of the Midwest and the second oldest in the United States . From 1947 to 2006 the brewery operated under the name The Joseph Huber Brewing Company .

history

The brewery was founded in 1845 as the Monroe Brewing Company. It kept this name until 1906 when it was bought by Adam Blumer and renamed after him. In the 1930s, over 14,000 hectoliters of beer were brewed. Joseph Huber bought the brewery in 1947 and renamed it "The Joseph Huber Brewing Company". By the 1980s, the output rose to 293,000 hl. The beers of the former Dixie brewery have been brewed since 2005 . After several changes of ownership, the brewery finally came into the possession of the Minhas family in 2006 and adopted its current name.
