Mark Joseph Hurley
Mark Joseph Hurley (born December 13, 1919 in San Francisco ; † February 5, 2001 there ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Santa Rosa in California .
Life
Mark Joseph Hurley, brother of Francis Thomas Hurley , was ordained a priest on September 23, 1944 .
Pope Paul VI appointed him on November 21, 1967 auxiliary bishop in San Francisco and titular bishop of Thunusuda . The Archbishop of San Francisco, Joseph Thomas McGucken , ordained him episcopal on January 4 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Hugh Aloysius Donohoe , Bishop of Stockton , and Ernest John Primeau , Bishop of Manchester .
On November 19, 1969, the Pope appointed him Bishop of Santa Rosa, California . He resigned from office on April 15, 1986.
Mark Joseph Hurley was appointed Grand Officer of the Papal Lay Order in 1969 by Cardinal Eugène Tisserant , Cardinal Grand Master of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem .
