Minimal house
Minimal House (also Microhouse ) is a subcategory of the House - and Techno - music . It is characterized by relatively slow tempos , the use of fewer elements and a minimal structure. The Detroit DJ and producer Robert Hood is considered the forefather .
Minimal House is characterized by a regular 4/4 rhythm with a bass drum on each quarter. The tempo is typically between 115 and 130 BPM . Most of the instrumental tracks consist mainly of rhythm elements that are used very sparsely and purposefully. The structure is often supplemented by hypnotizing, monotonous and disharmonious, atonal synthesizer chords.
The German minimal house scene was mainly shaped by the DJ and producer Steve Bug .
In the recent past, however, more and more artists such. B. SoloWG , Wighnomy Brothers , Matthew Herbert , Markus Nikolai or Michael Mayer became famous.
