Minister of the Royal House (Prussia)
The minister of the royal house was responsible in Prussia for the administration of the crown property and the protection of other royal rights.
Constitutional position
The House Ministry was officially part of the State Ministry until the March Revolution . Because of its special role, the incumbents had rarely attended government meetings. After 1848 the house minister was formally a court authority linked to the chief treasurer. It was no longer part of the Prussian State Ministry.
tasks
Subordinate to the ministry were, among other things, the heraldry , the archives of the royal house, the administration of family property and the family fideikommiss . In addition to the secret cabinet, it also served to deal with mercy matters and was responsible for carrying out royal orders that were not the responsibility of the government.

Office
For a long time the minister resided in the Berlin City Palace , the administration was temporarily divided between other royal and other properties. With the Palais in Wilhelmstrasse 73 , bought in 1858 , the ministry got a connected service building for the first time.
