The Minnesota Iron Rangers were an American ice hockey team from Hibbing , Minnesota . The team played in the American Hockey Association during the 1992–93 season .

The team was founded in 1992 as a franchise of the first-ever American Hockey Association . In their only season, the Iron Rangers finished fourth in the AHA after playing 27 games. The season was ended prematurely due to financial problems by the management of the league and the league was dissolved. A championship title was not awarded.
