The St. Paul Fighting Saints were an American ice hockey team from Saint Paul , Minnesota . The team played in the American Hockey Association during the 1992–93 season .
history
The team was founded in 1992 as a franchise of the first-ever American Hockey Association . They chose the name based on the Minnesota Fighting Saints from the World Hockey Association . In their only season, the Fighting Saints took first place in the AHA after playing 30 games. The season was ended prematurely due to financial problems by the management of the league and the league was dissolved. A championship title was not awarded.
