Mino & Tauri or Mino and Tauri is a cooperative children's and family game by the Italian game designer Carlo A. Rossi . The game for two to four players, ages six and up, takes about 15 minutes per round. It was published by Amigo in 2016 , in the Netherlands it was published by 999 Games as Zig & Zag .

Theme and equipment

The background story puts the player in the position of the two aliens Mino and Tauri, who got stranded on earth with their spaceship while creating crop circles and lost several objects in the field. The players have to collect these objects together on a double-sided with different labyrinths printed board and standing vertically by leading the two aliens connected by magnets through the respective labyrinths. The players win the game if they can collect at least half of the items in each of three consecutive rounds in a time set by an hourglass .

In addition to the instructions, the contents of the game box consist of four game boards printed on both sides, one of which can be placed in two game board stands in the game box. There are also four start cards, twelve item cards, two team and four player cards and an hourglass.

Style of play

Before the game, the two game board stands are placed in the game box, then one of the four double-sided game boards is selected and set up. The item cards and the four starting cards are shuffled and placed face down, then a starting card is turned over and the two playing figures are placed on the two labyrinths in the appropriate position and connected by magnets.

Then the hourglass and the top item card are turned over at the same time. The two players now try together to reach the displayed object by pulling the figure through the labyrinth on their side after consultation without crossing the hedges. On each page of the game board there are six of the twelve searched items. As soon as the figure has reached the desired item, the next card is revealed and the players try to reach it again. If the magnets loosen due to an awkward movement, a new start card is revealed and the players have to start again there. The round ends when either the hourglass has expired, no more starting cards are available (than after four restarts) or the players have collected all 12 items. A game runs over three rounds, which take place one after the other on the same game board, after which the numbers of items collected are added up and evaluated. Players lose the game if they have less than 18 points over three rounds; if they achieve more, they win the game and will be judged on the result.

If there are more than two players, two players form a team and receive a team card. According to the colors depicted on them, they are allowed to take part in the search for the objects. If the players want to play against each other, they play with alternating partners and each count their own result.
