Miraj

Miraj ( Marathi : मिरज Miraj [ ˈmirʌdʒ ]) is a city in the Indian state of Maharashtra . It is located in the Sangli district in the south of Maharashtra. Together with Sangli , Miraj forms the twin town of Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad with around 500,000 inhabitants.

The history of Miraj can be traced back to the 10th century. the city is known for Indian classical music. During the British colonial era , Miraj was the capital of the princely state of Miraj .
