Deshbhushan B. Bastawade

Deshbhushan B. Bastawade (born November 19, 1948 in Miraj , Sangli District , Maharashtra ) is an Indian arachnologist .

Deshbhushan B. Bastawade studied zoology and initially obtained a master's degree. He later did his PhD with a thesis on scorpions . His research mainly concerns spiders , scorpions and roller spiders . Bastawade works in the Western Regional Station of the Zoological Survey of India in Pune .

Bastawade published numerous initial descriptions of arachnids and other scientific articles , either alone or with colleagues . In 1983 he wrote the volume about the scorpions with BK Tikader in the Fauna of India series .
