Mirco Bergamasco (born February 23, 1983 in Padova ) is an Italian rugby union player who is active for Racing Métro 92 and the Italian national team . He plays on the outer three quarters and inner three quarters .

Career

Bergamasco comes from a rugby-loving family, his father Arturo was a winger for Italy and his brother Mauro plays with him at Stade Français and in the national team. He started playing rugby at Selvazzano Rugby , where his father and brother were also active. In 1999 he followed Mauro to Petrarca Rugby Padova . In 2003 both brothers went to France to join Stade Français , where they were on the same team for seven years. In 2010 they parted ways when he moved to Paris city rivals Racing Métro 92 .

He made his national team debut in 2002 against France . At the Six Nations 2003 he became a regular player and was used, among other things, in the historic victory over Wales . In three of the five games in the tournament, he put one try and was therefore also nominated for the World Cup . Since then he has been one of the undisputed pillars of the Italian selection. In 2007 he played his second World Cup tournament .
