Mirko Korolija

Mirko Korolija (born September 9, 1886 in Kistanje , † March 10, 1934 in Šibenik ) was a Croatian writer and politician . He was an extreme Yugoslav nationalist and a member of ORJUNA .

Life

Mirko Korolija was born in Kistanje, in the Bukovica region in Dalmatia . He attended the Cesarsko Kraljevsku Veliku Gymnasium in Zadar . During his time at high school, he began to write little songs and his first stanzas were published in the literary magazine Neven in 1898 after editing by Jova Jovanović Zmaj. Korolija obtained a doctorate in law from the Faculty of Law in Prague .

In 1921, two and a half years after the Italian occupation of northern Dalmatia, all of Dalmatia joined the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes . Mirko Korolija was very pleased about the accession of Dalmatia and the arrival of the Serbian army in March 1921. In February 1922 he was at the head of the board of directors of ORJUNA. Mirko Korolija gave lectures against what he himself said "Croatian separatists" and the "Bolshevik vermin".
