Mirko Läpple

Mirko Läpple (* 1970 in Stuttgart ) is a former German American football player.

career

Born in Stuttgart  , Läpple began playing American football at the age of 18 with the Holzgerlingen Saints. His next teams were the Stuttgart Scorpions and the Badener Greifs . At times he also stayed with the Indiana University Bloomington football team in the United States . In 1994 Läpple joined the Hamburg Blue Devils team . In 1996 he became German champions with the Hamburg team. In 1996, 1997 and 1998 the defensive player also won the Eurobowl with the team . Läpple played for Hamburg until 2000. Professionally, he worked in the sportswear industry. As a member of the coaching staff, he joined the work of the Hamburg Blue Devils from 2012.

Läpple was later diagnosed with paraplegia after a back operation and was transferred to a center for paraplegics. Through rigorous training, he regained his mobility.
