Mirla Castellanos
Mirla Josefina Castellanos Peñaloza (born March 31, 1941 in Valencia ) is a Venezuelan singer.
Castellanos made her debut in 1960 as a singer on Radio Caracas Televisión in the Show de Víctor . She subsequently worked as the secretary of the sports journalist Juan Vené . She received artistic support from Ricardo Tirado , Luis Cruz and Oswaldo Yépez and in 1961 released a single entitled Tema para enamorados . She then became a member of the Cuarteto Los Naipes before embarking on a solo career.
In 1969 she won first prize at the Festival de Benidorm with a song by Manuel Alejandro , and after a European tour in 1970 she won second prize at the Festival Latinoamericano de la Canción in Mexico. In the 1970s she became famous with her live show La Primerisima , the album Vuelve Pronto (1982) was particularly successful . Como Núnca is a compilation of their greatest hits.
