Mirusia Louwerse (born March 29, 1985 in Brisbane ) is an Australian - Dutch opera singer ( soprano ).
Live and act
Mirusia Louwerse was born in 1985 in the Australian metropolis of Brisbane . She graduated from the Queensland Conservatory in Brisbane in December 2006 with a Bachelor of Music degree in classical singing. In 2006 Mirusia Louwerse won the Joan Sutherland Opera Award as the youngest ever winner and recorded her debut album, She Walks in Beauty .
Mirusia, who only bears her first name as a stage name, is a lyrical soprano and has appeared in operas such as Die Zauberflöte by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , L'enfant et les sortilèges by Maurice Ravel and Albert Herring by Benjamin Britten .
In 2007, Mirusia became known in German-speaking countries through her participation in the tours of the Dutch violinist and conductor André Rieu . Mirusia, who is of Dutch-Polish descent, speaks fluent Dutch in addition to her native English . Together with André Rieu, she released the album entitled Waltzing Matilda in Australia in May 2008 , which made it to number 1 in the Australian charts and went platinum within ten days.
Mirusia's second album Always & Forever , also recorded with the support of Rieu, was released in Australia on October 8, 2010 and reached number 17 in the ARIA charts . The album was also successful in the Dutch charts.
In July 2015 Mirusia married Youri Wystyrk from the Netherlands, a member of Andre Rieu's production team.
