Lists on the subject

The Misagh-1 is an Iranian short -range surface-to-air guided missile system , a so-called MANPADS , which is intended to combat helicopters and combat aircraft at low altitudes.

technology

The Misagh-1 system is an Iranian replica of the Chinese QianWei-1 MANPADS, which in turn is a replica of the Russian 9K310 Igla-1 . The developer and manufacturer is the Tehran company Shahid Kazemi Industrial Complex . According to Iranian information, Misagh-1 has been improved in some points compared to the original, for example it has a shorter response time , a more modern infrared target system and a better solid propulsion system.

The successor to this system is the Misagh-2 MANPADS, essentially an improved version.

commitment

The Misagh-1 has been in service with the Iranian armed forces since 1993 . It is also used by various pro-Shiite groups involved in the Syrian war or the Houthi conflict .
