Misanthropic Existence is a black metal band from Worcestershire formed in 2011 .

history

Misanthropic Existence was founded in 2011 around the two main members drummer Ben “Lord Hypocrisy” Neale and singer and guitarist Rob “LGSM CymbalRapist” Watts together with Tom “Philosodomizer” Doherty as bassist and background singer. Since its inception, however, the band has seen various changes in bass guitarist and background singer. The band toured in different constellations within Great Britain. During this time, several demo recordings were made as well as participation in the split album Elitist Metal Bastards Unite from 2012. The album was released with Baalberith , Razakel Krieg and Mantarok via Satanica Productions . The contribution to the label compilation UKEM Records: Disciples Of Extremity - Volume 7 by UKEM Records and the contribution to the tribute album The Beast Awakens: a Tribute to Trondr, dedicated to Trond Bråthen ( Urgehal , Beastcraft ), emerged from the ongoing change of musicians alongside Watts and Neale Alastor Nefas from 2012. The recorded piece Satanist was released by the group in 2016 as a download single via Bandcamp . Between 2012 and 2016, the band reduced their activity due to Neale's paternity. In 2017 the band debuted with the album Death Shall Be Served via Bandcamp. The album was officially released to Aesthetic Death Records the following year. The publication gave the project international feedback, which was largely positive.

Content and ideology

Neale describes the content and ideological orientation of the band based on the band name. So he and the other members of the group Misanthropen expressed with their music how much they despise people. In the same interview, he explains his relationship to Satanism , which, in addition to misanthropy, functions as the basis of the lyrics.

"Satan in the literal sense to me is the fallen angel of god and that's a christian belief of which I hold no value in. I am strongly opposed to all religion and all aspects of them. I take Satan instead as a carnal force which exists in humans on a primitive level, it can be destructive and cruel, malicious and wicked, but to me I see it as part of the balance of the universe such as night and day, black and white, good and bad. Satan is the rebel, the antithesis of the following rules and being part of a herd, Satan empowers individualism and inspires leadership, Satan is everywhere you look depending on how you look and whether you can see it or not. However our drummer Cymbal Rapist can speak more of his views on his much more literal Satanism. "

“For me, Satan in the literal sense is the fallen angel of God and that is a Christian belief that I don't value. I am firmly against all religions and all aspects of them. Instead, I see Satan as a carnal force that exists in humans on a primitive level. It can be destructive and cruel, hideous and evil, but I see it as part of the balance of the universe like day and night, black and white, good and bad. Satan is the rebel, the opposite of obeying rules and being part of a flock, Satan promotes individualism and inspires leadership, Satan is everywhere you look depending on whether and how you look at things or not. Our drummer Cymbal Rapist, however, would say more about his much more literal Satanism. "

style

The music played by Misanthropic Existence is described as raw, fast-paced, and brutal Black Death Metal or Blackend Death Metal.

The vocals vary between the growling of Death Metal and the screaming vocals of Black Metal and thus fit in well with the sound of the group. The drumming is raw and mostly fast, but occasionally uses a less intense tempo. The guitars, however, are played with extremely fast chord progressions and riffs .
