Emma Mackey
Emma Margaret Marie Tachard-Mackey (born January 4, 1996 in Le Mans , France ) is a British-French actress and model . She is best known for her role as Maeve Wiley on the original Netflix series Sex Education .
Life
Emma Tachard-Mackey was born to a French and a British woman. She grew up in Sablé-sur-Sarthe and completed her school career in 2013 with an International Baccalaureate at The Académie de Nantes . Mackey attended the University of Leeds , where she studied English literature, appeared in the theater workshop and directed plays for the university's theater company.
She was the model for the 2017 summer collection of the English clothing line AIDA Shoreditch. In March 2016, she played Michelle in the horror film Badger Lane . In June 2018 she took part in Summit Fever , a film drama about two young English mountaineers who wanted to climb the Matterhorn , the Eiger and the Mont Blanc in summer .
Mackey has played one of the leading roles alongside Asa Butterfield and Gillian Anderson in the Sex Education series since 2019 . Maeve Wiley, her serial character, is a smart, enterprising “bad girl” and outsider who convinces a fellow student to start a secret sex therapy business at her school. Sex Education is the first major television series in Mackey's career. She received positive reviews for the role of Maeve Wiley.
