The Misery Peak (English for Elendsspitze ) is a 2275 m high mountain peak in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Maud Mountains it rises on the western foothills of the Roberts massif . A geodetic surveying station is located on it .
The southern group of a campaign carried out from 1961 to 1962 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition gave it its name. It is named after the many hours that scientists had to spend here under adverse conditions while waiting for clear weather.
