The Missionary and Adoration Sisters of the Holy Family ( religious symbol : MASF ) are an international congregation of pontifical right .

history

In 1937 the superior general of the Missionaries of the Holy Family , Father Anton Maria Trampe MSF, founded the female religious community . The community of sisters established in Baarlo near Venlo ( Netherlands ) was intended to support missionary work overseas. After the Second World War , the religious community expanded from the Netherlands and became a congregation with an international character. She founded branches in Germany , Indonesia , Madagascar , Chile and Switzerland . In 2008, the Indonesian Order Province was recognized by a papal decree as an independent congregation. The province of Madagascar is preparing for independence.

Today the congregation has branches in Germany ( Mainz-Finthen ), the Netherlands with a motherhouse in Baarlo, Chile and Madagascar. The Generalhaus has been based in Kriens (Switzerland) since 2002 , with another branch in Switzerland in Reussbühl . The chapter of the order elected in 2008 in Kriens with the Swiss Dr. med. Annemarie Bühler a new Superior General . They elected Sister Wilhelmine Selten from the Netherlands and Sister Martina Lorenz from Switzerland as their deputies. Today the missionary sisters are particularly active in the field of care for the elderly and terminal care . Its mission is to work for the common population through catechesis , schools, adult education, prevention (health, hygiene, nutrition) , hospitals and outpatient clinics.
