Right
As pointing right directions and direction measurements referred to relating to geographic north refer, d. H. the direction of the local meridian .
The term is understood as a counterpart to misweisend , which has magnetic north as a reference, i.e. the measured direction is based on the field lines of the earth's magnetic field .
In particular, the navigation uses the following terms:
- legal north (rwN), engl. "True north" (TN) = astronomical north direction
- true bearing (rwP), engl. "True bearing" (TB) = angle between true north and the bearing for an observed object or the other ship / aircraft
- True course (rwK), the heading of a ship or aircraft in relation to geographic north.
- Course feed : the correction from magnetic to true north.
The terms 1–3 are labeled with the attribute “magnetic” when they refer to magnetic north.
