Misuzu Yoshimura from Wakkanai began playing skeleton in 2000 and was promoted to the national team of Japan that same year. She contested her first international race in December 2003 as part of the Skeleton America's Cup in Calgary , where she was 27th and 25th. She took part in the America's Cup races sporadically until January 2005, but it was not until her last race in Lake Placid that the Japanese achieved significant results with ranks 11th and 12th. In November of that year, Yoshimura made her debut in the Skeleton World Cup. In Calgary, she finished 25th in her first race. Four more races followed with results in the same area, the best result was a 23rd place in Lake Placid. It was also Yoshimura's best World Cup result. In the overall World Cup standings of the 2005/06 season she was 34. A last World Cup race, in which she was 25th, Yoshimura contested in November 2006 in Calgary.
