List of overall world cup winners in skeleton

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of overall World Cup winners in skeleton lists all athletes who have won the overall World Cup ranking in skeleton since 1986/87 for men and since 1996/97 for women , as well as the second and third places in the overall ranking. In addition, the list is made accessible through medal tables and nation ratings.

After athletes from Austria dominated the World Cup in the first decade, athletes from other nations, especially from the USA and Canada, but also from Germany, have come into focus since then. Occasionally, athletes from other nations such as Japan and Great Britain were able to advance to the top of the world, but these developments were mainly based on the individual strengths of individual athletes and only partly on the development of the sport in the respective countries. It is relatively even among women. Americans, Canadians and Germans dominate here. As with men, the successes of women athletes from other nations such as Switzerland or Great Britain are primarily based on the individual class of individual athletes.
