Anne O'Shea lives in Lake Placid ( New York ) and is supported by Orvie Garrett trained. She has been running skeleton since 2005 and has been a member of the US national team since 2006. She came to the skeleton when she attended the Empire State Games in Binghamton in 2005. In 2006 she took part in them herself. If in February 2006 it was not yet enough to achieve a notable placement at the Junior World Championships in Igls , it was able to improve massively in the following 2006/07 season. She won a start for the America's Cup in the US eliminations . Here she took fourth place in Calgary ; she won both races at Lake Placid, finished second in both races at Park City and won the overall standings. Then O'Shea started in Winterberg in the European Cup and finished tenth. At the start of the 2007/08 World Cup season in Calgary, she made her World Cup debut and was also tenth. At her other starts she placed between ranks 10 and 19 and was 17th overall. At the Junior World Championships in Igls in 2008 she was ninth.

In the winter of 2008/09 O'Shea returned to the America's Cup and was able to repeat their win in the overall standings after six podiums in eight races. She also started in the Intercontinental Cup, where she was eighth overall. She also finished eighth at the 2009 Junior World Championships. In the winter of 2009/10 she was mainly in the Intercontinental Cup at the start, but her best placement was a tenth place in the last race of the season. 2010/11 Anne O'Shea was able to qualify for the World Cup again . She placed in the eight races of the season between ranks 10 and 17 and thus finished 11th in the overall World Cup. At the Skeleton World Championships in 2011 she was 23rd in the individual and eighth with the team. She also took part in the World Cup in 2011/12 and was able to celebrate her first podium with second place in La Plagne . After ranks between 7 and 18 in the other races, she was eighth in the overall World Cup. At the 2012 World Cup , she finished tenth in the individual and fourth with the team.

In the following two winters, Anne O'Shea mainly competed in the Intercontinental Cup. However, she was rarely able to place herself in the top 10 and was ranked 12th in the overall ratings 2012/13 and 14th in 2013/14 . In 2013, like 2011, she was US champion. For the 2014/15 season O'Shea was able to qualify again for the World Cup, where she reached two ninth places as the best results and was 13th in the final ranking. At the Skeleton World Championship in 2015 she was fifth in the team competition and finished 18th in the individual. In the winter of 2015/16 she celebrated her first victory in the World Cup in the fourth race of the season on her home track in Lake Placid and a second place on the podium with a second place in Whistler .
