The IBSF Skeleton Ranking (until 2015 FIBT Skeleton Ranking ) is a kind of world ranking list in the sport of skeleton created by the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation (IBSF) (until 2015 Fédération Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing , FIBT) . Since the 2007/08 season, a ranking has been created for each season, separately for women and men. After the ranking, the nations quota places for the following season will be distributed.
All results from the four official racing series World Cup (WC), Intercontinental Cup (ICC), European Cup (EC) and North American Cup (NAC; up to and including 2011/12 America's Cup, AC) of the IBSF in skeleton as well as the results of the World Championships ( WM) and Junior World Championships (JWM). The World Cup brings the most points, so that the athletes who dominate the World Cup usually lead the ranking. In the EC and NAC, fewer points are awarded if there are fewer than eight participants. However, the minimum number of participants for the evaluation of a race is six athletes from at least three nations.

Nations quota places
The allocation of the quota places for the individual racing series is based on the IBSF ranking of the previous season. As of 2015, the following starting places will be awarded:
In the World Cup , nations with 3 athletes among the 30 best placed 3 starting places, nations with 2 athletes among the 50 top placed 2 starting places and nations with 1 athlete among the 60 top placed 1 starting place. For women, nations with 3 athletes among the 25 best placed 3 starters, nations with 2 athletes among the 35 best placed 2 starters and nations with 1 athlete among the 45 best placed 1 starter.
In the Intercontinental Cup, 3 starters from nations with 3 athletes among the 60 best placed, from nations with 2 athletes among the 75 best placed 2 starters and from all other nations 1 athlete can participate. For women, nations with 3 athletes among the 45 best placed 3 starting places, nations with 2 athletes among the 60 best placed 2 starting places and all other nations 1 starting place.
In the European Cup and North American Cup , a distinction is made between nations from Europe and Africa and nations from America, Asia and Oceania. In the European Cup, the 6 best nations from Europe and Africa receive four starting places for the men and the four best for the women. All other nations from Europe and Africa are allowed to take part with a maximum of three starters, all nations from America, Asia and Oceania with a maximum of two. For the North American Cup, the opposite applies that the best six or four nations from America, Asia and Oceania have four starting positions and all other associations from these regions can send a maximum of three starters. All nations from Europe and Africa can take part in the North American Cup with a maximum of two athletes. In addition, athletes from the top 15 of the current IBSF rankings are only allowed to participate if their association has fully exhausted its quota places for the World Cup.
In the case of the World Cup , it is not the previous season's ranking that is taken into account, but the current ranking. The distribution of the quotas is otherwise the same as for the World Cup - with the exception that all nations that do not place an athlete among the top 60 athletes or 45 athletes receive a starting place.
