Sandro Stielicke (born November 30, 1986 in Rostock ) is a German skeleton driver .

Act

Sandro Stielicke lives in Winterberg, where he starts for BSC Winterberg and is trained by Frank Schwarz. He started skeleton in 2005 and has been a member of the German national team since 2006. In November 2006 he competed for the first time in a race of the Skeleton European Cup in Igls . In his second European Cup race, he was fourth in Winterberg. At the beginning of the following season he was third in Igls and then second in the European Cup race in Königssee . As a result, he rose to the newly created Skeleton Intercontinental Cup . Here he came second in Königssee and won the next race in Winterberg. In the 2008/09 season Stielicke made his debut in the World Cup and reached the podium in the World Cup for the first time at the second race in Alternberg . He won the title at the 2009 Junior World Championship in Koenigssee, and was sixth at the World Championship .

At the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver , Stielicke came tenth in the Whistler Sliding Center .

In the 2010/11 season , Stielicke achieved two podium places in the World Cup and came second in the overall standings. As in the previous year, he was sixth at the European Championships and fourth at the World Championships .

After Stielicke was repeatedly thrown back from injuries and the coaches considered a nomination to be no longer feasible, he ended his career in skeleton in 2013 and is aiming for a switch to bobsleigh.
