Intercontinental Skeleton Cup 2008/09

The Skeleton Intercontinental Cup was held for the second time in the 2008/09 season . He acted as a link between the World Cup and the continental racing series, the European Cup and America's Cup .

The starting places in the Intercontinental Cup were allocated through national quotas. For the men, the USA, Germany, Great Britain and Canada were allowed to nominate three each, Japan, Austria, Russia, Latvia, Italy and New Zealand two and all other nations one starter. In the women's category, the USA, Germany, Great Britain and Canada were also allowed to send three starters into the race, with two starting positions planned for Australia, Russia, Switzerland and Japan. All other nations were entitled to a starting place.
