Darla Deschamps (born May 5, 1981 in Calgary ) is a Canadian skeleton pilot . Darla Deschamps lives in Calgary and has been a skeleton pilot since 2004. She has been a member of the Canadian national team since 2006. At the end of 2004 she started in the Skeleton America's Cup for the first time and was 28 in her hometown. Two years later she came in seventh place for the first time in the top ten. In 2007 Deschamps was fourth in the Canadian Championships. In early 2008, she finished second in Park City . In all other races of the year she came in single digits. In the overall ranking of the Skeleton America's Cup 2007/08 , she finished second. For the 2008/09 season Deschamps rose to the Skeleton Intercontinental Cup . There she won the first race of the season, which took place on her home track. In the following Intercontinental Cup season 2009/10 she was able to achieve a podium. Deschamps made the breakthrough in the 2010/11 season. She won two of the first four races of the Intercontinental Cup and came third twice. So she made it to the World Cup . In the four races she finished fifth, twice fourth and finally second in the last race in Cesana . At the world championship in Königssee , Deschamps was eighth.
