The 2008/09 European Skeleton Cup was a skeleton racing series organized by the Fédération Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing (FIBT) . It was held for the ninth time and comprised eight competitions at five competition locations. Together with the Intercontinental Cup and the America's Cup, it was part of the foundation of the World Cup .

Four athletes each from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy were entitled to start in the men’s race. All other nations from Europe and all African countries were entitled to three starting positions, the other nations to two. For the women, four starting places were reserved for athletes from Russia, Germany, Italy and Romania. The same rules applied to the other starting places as to the men.
