John Daly (skeleton pilot)

John Daly (born June 10, 1985 ) is an American skeleton pilot .

John Daly lives in Smithtown . He has been involved in the sport of skeleton since 2001. Since 2003 he has been a member of the US national team. In December 2004 he was able to make his debut in the Skeleton America's Cup in Park City and finished twelfth. At the beginning of the following year he took part in the Junior World Championships in Winterberg , where he finished eighth, and in 2006 in Igls, ninth. At the beginning of the 2005/06 season, he finished tenth in Lake Placid, his first top ten result in the America's Cup. It took until December 2006, however, that he achieved a first outstanding placement as third in Lake Placid. In April 2008, Daly won his first races in this racing series in the same place. He has competed in the European Skeleton Cup several times so far . Third place in St. Moritz in January 2008 was third place, the best result by the end of the season. In the overall rankings of the European Cup and America's Cup for the 2007/08 season, Daly was fifth and eighth. The American finished the Junior World Championships in Igls in seventh place. 2008/09 Daly started again in the European Cup. In Igls and St. Moritz, he won one race each and in the end came second in the overall ranking of the competition behind Sebastian Haupt . The 2009/10 Interconti season was also successful . He was only used in the last four races of the season, but won all four. Previously, he had two America's Cup races in Lake Placid that season.
