Sebastian Haupt (born December 17, 1985 in Heiligenstadt ) is a former German skeleton driver .

He has been practicing the sport since 2000. Sebastian Haupt's career highlight was his participation in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , where he finished ninth as the best German. The RSG Hochsauerland athlete has been competing in the World Cup since the 2005/06 season, when he won a World Cup in Königssee and came second in Altenberg . At the 2006 European Championships in St. Moritz , he finished seventh. He won the German championships of the year ahead of Frank Rommel and Frank Kleber . At the European Skeleton Championships in 2008 in Cesana Pariol , he finished 2nd. At the Skeleton World Championship in Altenberg in 2008 , he won gold in the team competition. For the 2008/09 season he missed the jump into both the World Cup team and the squad for the Skeleton Intercontinental Cup due to injuries . He competed in the European Cup and won the first four races of the season in a row and the last race in Cesana. He won five of the eight races of the season and was second and third each time. In the overall standings, Haupt won ahead of John Daly and Alexander Rotte . He is training to be an industrial clerk in Meschede.
