Grégory Saint-Géniès

Grégory Saint-Géniès (born May 23, 1977 in Maisons-Alfort ) is a French skeleton driver .

Grégory Saint-Géniès lives in Limeil-Brevannes . He has been running skeleton since 2000 and has been a member of the French national team since 2002. He is trained by Tristan Gale , Philippe Cavoret and Yann Morisseau. He contested his first European skeleton cup race in November 2000 in Igls (31st). Two years later he made his debut as 30th in Calgary as part of the Skeleton World Cup . Saint-Géniès achieved his greatest international success to date at a major event at the 2003 European Skeleton Championship , where he finished eighth in St. Moritz . The race was also a World Cup race in which he was 15th and achieved his best result in this competition. Shortly afterwards he took part with less success (21st) in his first Skeleton World Championship in Nagano . The greatest success of the Frenchman's career so far was victory in the overall ranking of the 2006/07 European Cup . In addition, he became French champion for the first time in 2007, after having been second and third several times, but never defeating Philippe Cavoret. The next big success was winning the overall standings of the Skeleton America's Cup for the 2008/09 season . Saint-Géniès was the first European to win this racing series.
