John Farrow (born February 18, 1982 in North Sydney , New South Wales ) is an Australian skeleton athlete .
John Farrow started skeleton in 2008 and has been a member of Australia's national team since 2009. At the start of the 2009/10 season he made his international debut in the Skeleton America's Cup , in the eight races of which he always participated. He competed in his first three races in Park City , where he was ninth in his debut and already finished third in the second race with Iain Roberts . In January 2010 Farrow took part in Calgary for the first time in races of the Skeleton Intercontinental Cup and was there 13th and 16th. The 2010/11 season , the Australian started with races in the Skeleton America's Cup. In the same month he took part in his first races of the Skeleton European Cup in Cesana , in which he reached ranks 13 and 15. In December he came seventh in Winterberg for the first time among the top ten in the European Cup. In January 2011 he finally made his debut in the Skeleton World Cup with a 25th place in Igls . He also took part in his first World Championships in February , where he finished 23rd. In April 2011, after finishing fifth in the season finale of the Skeleton America's Cup, he also started as a push in two races in the America's Cup in bobsleigh .
In 2011, John Farrow seriously injured his left leg in a fall while warming up, whereupon he missed the entire 2011/12 competition season. In the 2012/13 season he returned to international competitions in the Intercontinental Cup and achieved his best result in this racing series with 9th place in the penultimate race of the season in Altenberg . At the 2013 World Cup , he was 27. In the following season he took part in the World Cup again and achieved placements between 17 and 25, which he finished 20th in the overall World Cup. At the Olympic Games in Sochi at the end of the season he reached 17th place. In 2014/15 Farrow started the season with four wins in the North American Cup. He then competed in five races in the World Cup , where he achieved results between 20th and 27th place. He finished the world championship again in 27th place. The 2015/16 season began for Farrow with four podium finishes in the first half of the North American Cup .
