Andy Wood (born February 15, 1979 in Hillingdon ) is a British skeleton driver .

Andy Wood started skeleton in 2003 and has been part of the UK national team since 2004. The Londoner is trained by Mark Wood and Danny Holdcroft. His first major race was the 2004 British Championship , where he finished tenth. For the 2004/05 season he qualified in the national qualifications of his association for the European Skeleton Cup and made his international debut on 15th in November 2004 in Igls . At the national championships in 2005, he was fifth. In the following season he finished ninth in Koenigssee for the first time a place in the top ten in the European Cup, and in fourth at the British championships he also narrowly missed a medal. The 2006/07 season Wood drove in the Skeleton America's Cup . There he finished three second and three third places in the six races and won the overall standings. He then won his first European Cup race in Winterberg . Due to the good performances he moved up to the Skeleton World Cup and made his debut in February 2007 in Cesana Pariol . In his second race the Brit finished 16th in Winterberg and achieved his best World Cup result so far. The highlight of the season was the participation in the European Skeleton Championships 2007 in Königssee, where Wood only reached a rather disappointing 24th place. In 2007/08 he competed in the newly created Skeleton Intercontinental Cup . There he reached third places in Winterberg and Calgary and took this place in the overall ranking. He also achieved several good results in America's Cup races.
