Skeleton World Championship 2013
The 23rd Skeleton World Championship took place from January 27 to February 2, 2013 in St. Moritz , Switzerland . It was held parallel to the 2013 Bobsleigh World Championship. After 1982, 1989, 1998 and 2007, St. Moritz hosted the Skeleton World Championship for the fifth time.
St. Moritz was originally chosen on June 9, 2008 by the congress of the International Bobsleigh and Sledge Federation (FIBT) held in Chianciano Terme as the venue for the 2012 Bobsleigh World Championship. On May 31, 2009, at the FIBT Congress in Moscow, the 2013 World Bobsleigh Championship was awarded to Lake Placid. However, the venues were changed in September 2010. The change was made for cost reasons, as a training week is planned on the Olympic course in Sochi at the end of the 2012/13 season and there are significantly lower transport costs from Switzerland.
