Michael Höfer (born March 23, 1986 ) is a Swiss skeleton athlete .

Michael Höfer lives in Rapperswil-Jona . He started skeleton in 2007 and is trained by Cédric Tamani . In November 2007 he made his debut in Igls in the European Skeleton Cup , where he was 39th out of 54 starters. Two months later, in his second European Cup race in St. Moritz , he was able to more than double his best performance as 18th. Until the turn of the year 2009/10, Höfer was regularly used in the European Cup and in December 2008 and 2009 in Altenberg he achieved 14th places as the best result in the racing series. At the Junior World Championships in 2009 in Königssee , the Swiss finished 19th. In January 2010 , he finished ninth in St. Moritz for the first time in the top ten. In Winterberg , at the beginning of the 2010/11 season , he was able to compete in the Skeleton Intercontinental Cup for the first time and was 20th there. In the following two races in La Plagne Höfer was 16. In January 2011 followed in Winterberg also the debut in the Skeleton World Cup , in which he reached the 23rd place. It was also the 2011 European Skeleton Championship , in which he was 15th.
