Jennifer Ciochetti (born December 2, 1984 in Edmonton , Alberta ) is a Canadian bobsleigh athlete .

Career

Jennifer Ciochetti lives in Edmonton. She initially ran track and field at the University of Alberta and was a top sprinter. In 2006 she switched to the Canadian national bobsleigh team, where she has been a pusher for Helen Upperton ever since . With her she always came in the top four at four World Cup starts in the 2006/07 season and was sixth at the 2007 Bobsleigh World Championship in St. Moritz . At the beginning of the following season , she won the opening race with Upperton on her home track in Calgary . Both were also successful in Cesana.

In the following season she celebrated an undisputed victory in the opening race in Winterberg. However, she was unable to take the podium for the rest of the season. For the 2009/10 season she was only able to get onto the podium once with second place in Altenberg.

In the summer of 2010, Ciochetti took part in a pilot training course for the association after missing qualification for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and has been running his own two-man bobsleigh since the 2010/11 season .

Together with Kaillie Humphries , she won the two-man bobsleigh title at the 2012 World Bobsleigh Championships in Lake Placid . A year later, at the 2013 World Bobsleigh Championship in St. Moritz , she finished 18th in the two-man bobsleigh. In the mixed team competition, she reached sixth place.

At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she started in the two-man bobsleigh competition with her partner Chelsea Valois and came in 13th with her.
