Anže Šetina (born May 9, 1986 in Kranj ) is a Slovenian skeleton rider .

Anže Šetina has been driving skeleton since 2006 and has also been part of the Slovenian national team since 2007. The athlete from Kranj made his international debut in November 2007 at a European Skeleton Cup race in Igls , where he finished 29th. Two months later he came in ninth in the top ten for the first time in St. Moritz . The best result of the season was a sixth place in Winterberg . The Junior World Championships 2008 in Igls finished Šetina in 13th place at the Skeleton World Championships in 2008 the Slovene reached 28th place in Altenberg . Also in the season 2008/09 Šetina started again in the European Cup and achieved different results. In Igls he was able to reach the podium almost for the first time in fourth place. At the 2009 Junior World Championships in Königssee , he did not miss a medal when he finished fifth. In January 2009 the Slovenian competed in the Skeleton Intercontinental Cup in Cesana Pariol for the first time and finished 20th. In November 2009 he came sixth in the top ten in the second highest racing series for the first time in Winterberg. In December of that year , the World Cup debut followed in Winterberg, in which Šetina was 15th. It is also his best World Cup placement so far, which he has been able to repeat two more times since then. in January 2010 he started at the European Skeleton Championships 2010 in Igls and finished eleventh there. The highpoint of the career were the 2010 Olympics from Vancouver , where the Slovenian finished in 21st place. In the post-Olympic season , Šetina started consistently in the World Cup. He finished eleventh at the 2011 European Championships in Winterberg.
