Lucy Katherine Chaffer (born October 19, 1983 in Subiaco ) is an Australian skeleton pilot .

Lucy Chaffer lives in Perth and studied at Notre Dame Australia. She is trained by Terry Holland and Duff Gibson . Chaffer was discovered in a 2006 Australian Skeleton Federation talent eliminations. In November 2006 she took part in her first race in the framework of the Skeleton America's Cup in Calgary and was 14th there. In late 2007, the New Zealander made her debut in the Skeleton Intercontinental Cup . In her first race she was 16th on the combined artificial ice rink at Königssee . In the period that followed, she kept switching between America's and Continental Cups. The results were mostly in the range of ranks 12 to 18. In November 2008, Chaffer was able to achieve a top ten placement in the America's Cup for the first time as ninth in Calgary. In February she was used in Park City in the last two races of the 2008/09 season in the Skeleton World Cup and reached 20th place both times. In November 2009 she won an international race for the first time at the Skeleton America's Cup in Lake Placid .

In the 2010/11 season , Chaffer made her debut in the World Cup, she took part in all races and always placed between 12th and 20th place, in the overall World Cup she was 14th. At the World Cup in Königssee , she reached 15th place.
