María Montejano (born July 18, 1986 ) is a Spanish skeleton pilot .
María Montejano lives in Barcelona . She was initially a sprinter and came to skeleton in 2008 through her training partner Ander Mirambell . In December of that year she took part in the European Skeleton Cup for the first time in Winterberg and finished 18th. The other races in this racing series confirmed this level of performance. In January 2009, the Spaniard started at the Junior World Championships in Königssee , but did not reach the goal. The 2009/10 season started in the Skeleton Intercontinental Cup , where Montejano reached places in the upper 20s. The first highlight of her career was taking part in the 2010 European Skeleton Championship in Igls , where she was 13th. In the winters 2010/11 and 2011/12 she started again mainly in the European Cup and achieved a 12th place in Igls as the best place. In November 2012 she got her first top 10 placements with an 8th and 10th place in Königssee. In January 2013 she took part in the European and World Championships for the first time and finished 14th and 27th respectively.
At the beginning of the 2013/14 season, Montejano achieved four top 10 results in the North American Cup and then in the Intercontinental Cup between 12th and 19th place. In addition, she finished 15th in the 2014 European Skeleton Championship . In 2014/15 she took part again in the European and Intercontinental Cup and achieved three single-digit results in the European Cup. At the 2015 World Championships she was 23rd. In the 2015/16 winter she started with two 10th places at the Intercontinental Cup in Lake Placid .
