Eric Neilson (born January 27, 1981 ) is a Canadian skeleton athlete .

Eric Neilson lives in Calgary . He started skeleton in 2006 and has been a member of the Canadian national team since 2009. In December 2006 , he made his international debut at the Skeleton America's Cup in Park City, finishing tenth in two consecutive races. The next international races in the performance area did not follow until 13 months later . In Calgary in his fourth race, he achieved a single-digit result for the first time with sixth place. Neilson came in single digits in three races of the season. In the 2009/10 season , the Canadian competed in the European Skeleton Cup . Here he started in Königssee with a seventh place. In the further course of the season he finished third behind Alexander Kröckel and Christian Baude in Altenberg and thus achieved a podium finish for the first time. In the following race in Igls he only had to admit defeat to Daniel Mächler . In the last race of the season, Neilson finished third behind Alexander Gaszner and Kröckel. In the overall standings he missed the top three against Alexander Rotte by six points as fourth. Only in two of the eight races did he miss positions in the top ten. At the Canadian Championships he was second behind Olympic champion Jon Montgomery in 2010. In the 2010/11 season, the Canadian qualified for the Skeleton Intercontinental Cup , where he was ninth in his first race in Winterberg .
