Alexander Rotte

Alexander Rotte (born October 21, 1989 ) is a German skeleton pilot .

Life

Alexander Rotte lives in Winterberg . He started skeleton in 2006 and has been a member of the German national team since 2007. In December 2007 he made his debut in Cesana Pariol in the Skeleton European Cup and finished 17th. Rotte's next important race was the 2009 German Skeleton Championship , which was held in November 2008. The athlete from BSC Winterberg took fifth place. For the 2008/09 season Rotte qualified in the internal eliminations for the European Cup. Apart from one race in Igls , where he only finished eleventh, he only achieved single-digit placements for the entire season. In Altenberg he achieved his first podium result in third place, in Cesana he finished second behind his teammate Sebastian Haupt at the season finale . In the overall ranking, Rotte took third place.

In the following season 2009/2010 he experienced several podium finishes at the European Cup and crowned his season with a victory on the Olympic track in Cesana. That year he also won the overall ranking of the European Cup.

Rotte also ran biathlon. Here he was a member of the SK Winterberg and was trained by Thomas Pawliczek . The greatest success was a fourth place in the German Cup in Bayerisch Eisenstein .
