German Skeleton Championship 2009
The Germans Skeleton Championship 2009 took place in November 15, 2008 Winterberg instead. The event was organized by the Bobsleigh and Sled Association for Germany (BSD ), the event was organized by the Sauerland Winterberg bobsleigh and sledge sports club (BSC Winterberg), and the venue was the Winterberg Hochsauerland bobsleigh run . Alois Schnorbus was in charge of the organization, Manfred Schulte was the race director. Both belong to the BSC Winterberg. The jury consisted of the BSD sports supervisor Wolfgang Strauss, who presided over it, and the national trainers Skeleton Bernhard Lehmann and Frank Schwarz.
Because of the tight schedule of the 2008/09 season, the championship was held at the beginning of the season and thus still in 2008. Therefore the highly rated Anja Huber , champion of the previous year and the runner-up Kerstin Szymkowiak in the women as well as Frank Rommel , runner-up of the previous year and Sandro Stielicke in the men were missing . They prepared for the World Cup season as part of the America's Cup . In addition, men's previous year's champion Sebastian Haupt was missing due to an injury. Thus Katharina Heinz and Mirsad Halilovic became German champions for the first time.
