Alexander Gassner won his first title, confirming his sporting development, which has enabled him to take part in the Skeleton World Cup for the first time since the start of the season . With his victory, Gassner benefited from being one of the local heroes on his home track. The second World Cup starter and three-time runner-up Frank Rommel came in sixth and three tenths of a second behind in the top group, while the third World Cup starter, Alexander Kröckel , came in 18th. With more than a second and a half behind the leader, only a limited improvement would have been possible with a second run. Last year's champion Sandro Stielicke , in fourth place, missed the medal ranks by a tenth of a second and was therefore unable to recommend himself for reconsideration in the World Cup team, where he failed after a good previous season with second place in the overall qualification for the current season. The second World Cup starter of the previous year who failed in the qualification, the 2009 champion Mirsad Halilovic , also missed a good place in 16th. With Maximilian Graßl and Michael Zachrau , two young athletes won the silver and bronze medals. The performances varied not only for individual performance reasons, but also because of the difficult and changing weather conditions.

With Jacqueline Lölling ahead of Sophia Griebel , two young athletes of the BSD won title and runner-up championship, in fourth place, Lena Joch, another young driver who, like Lölling and Griebel, has already gained international experience, was far ahead. With 35 hundredths of a second, Lölling had the largest gap between the athlete and Griebel in the top group, which reached sixth place from World Cup starter Katharina Heinz . The reigning world champion Marion Thees was third . The defending champion and three-time champion Anja Huber did not start for health reasons. The changing and difficult weather conditions were partly responsible for the achievement of the classification, along with individual driving performance.
Local hero Lölling confirmed her title win on their home track a development that she and abroad since the 2010/11 season in the skeleton European Cup and 2011/12 in Skeleton Intercontinental drives. Only a little after the German championship, she confirmed her performance and won the title at the Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck .
