German Skeleton Championship 1998

The 32nd German Skeleton Championship in 1998 was held on January 11, 1998 in Altenberg . There was one event for women and one for men. Both were carried out in two runs. The title fights were also the Saxon Championships, which was won by Lars Petr and Diana Sartor .

A total of 21 participants took part. Olaf Meilicke fell in the first run. Andy Böhme won his first and only German championship title. Böhme and Willi Schneider were the superior athletes of the competition and distanced all other starters. Böhme set the best times in both races.

There were a total of 7 participants at the start. Steffi Hanzlik won her second German championship title after the title last year. She set the best times in both races and distanced Diana Sartor by more than a minute. All other starters fell dramatically in terms of performance compared to the two top athletes.
