A total of 16 of 17 registered participants took part, five fewer than in the previous year.

  • 1 day
    • Run 1: Last year's champion Florian Grassl was the first to start. He had an excellent start time (5.25 seconds), which was only beaten by Frank Rommel (5.22 seconds) in the course of the first run . Sebastian Haupt achieved the best running time with 57.24 seconds ahead of Rommel (57.71 seconds) and the young up-and-coming driver Sandro Stielicke (58.27), who had his first senior season in 2007/08. Grassl was only seventh, the highly regarded Mirsad Halilovic fifth.
    • Run 2: Haupt also dominated the second run with a time of 57.36 seconds ahead of Rommel (57.83), who again had the best start with 5.22 seconds. Third place in the round was Florian Grassl (57.97).
  • 2 day
    • Run 3: In the third run, too, Haupt needed the shortest time and increased his lead in the overall standings. As in the two races of the previous day, Frank Rommel finished second (57.83). Third place in the run went to Florian Grassl (57.93), who also had the best start (5.23).
    • Run 4: In the last run only the ten best athletes from the first three runs competed. The third best run showed Grassl (58.26), second fastest driver was Matthias Biedermann (58.25). The fastest time is Frank Rommel (57.30). Despite his comfortable lead, Sebastian Haupt was in danger of losing the title he believed to be safe after a driving mistake that almost led to a fall. With 58.36 seconds (fifth running time) he was 1.06 seconds behind the best runner, Rommel, who again had the best start time with 5.24 seconds.

Conclusion: Sebastian Haupt rightly won his second German championship title despite a result that was once again tight due to a driving error. He was able to set the fastest time three times. Second-placed Frank Rommel benefited above all from his good starts. He set the fastest starting times three times and was runner-up once. Last year's champion Grassl lost all title chances in the first run. After that he secured the bronze medal with three third runtimes. Top favorite Michi Halilovic could not live up to his role as favorite and only came in sixth place. Sandro Stielicke got off to a good start, but after finishing third in the first round, he was only able to achieve eighth places and ended up seventh. Frank Kleber , last year's champion with Florian Grassl, had retired from active competitive sport before the season and drove his last race with the German championship. He finished eighth. David Ludwig could only finish eleventh and did not reach the last lap. Fourth-placed David Lingmann drove four almost identical runs, all of which were within three hundredths of a second time difference. What was noticeable was the wide variation in performance between the starters.
