David Ludwig

David Ludwig (born April 6, 1988 ) is a German skeleton and bobsleigh athlete .

David started cross-country skiing at the Oberhof primary school when he was seven. With this requirement he moved to the Oberhof sports high school. After a long injury, he had to quit skiing. He then switched to skeleton in 2001. His first trainers were Erich Enders and Frank Schwarz. He starts for the BSR Rennsteig Oberhof . His greatest successes so far are sixth place at the Junior World Championships in 2006 and 2007, second place in the overall European Cup ranking in 2007, winning a Junior Cup in 2007 and sixth place at the German Championships in 2007. Ludwig has been racing internationally in the Skeleton European Cup since 2004 . In January 2005 he drove his only race in the Skeleton World Cup in St. Moritz and was 35 there. In the following years, Ludwig was at the forefront of the European Cup. He has come on podium three times so far. So far, he has won one race in Winterberg in January 2008 . In the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons he finished second in the overall European Cup standings. At the German Championships in 2005, Ludwig was sixth, in 2006 seventh. 2009 ninth.

In addition to skeleton, Ludwig also does bobsleigh and finally switched to this sport in 2011. As a pilot, he took part in German championships and was ninth in the four-man and 14th in the two-man bobsleigh in Winterberg in 2011. In the 2011/12 season he takes part in the European Bobsleigh Cup and is a member of Germany's C national squad.
